Lachlan Macaulay is partner & head custom carpenter at Macaulay & Co. He is originally from Bacchus Marsh Australia but is now based in West Palm Beach & has been serving the community of South Florida since 2018.
Lachlan has had a varied career as a mechanic, engineer, factory manager & builder. Working in Abu Dhabi as a factory manger and engineer for a major paving stone manufacturing facility is where he met his wife Jennifer. Then, through the magic of the universe they wound up moving to Florida so Lachie could pursue a career as a marine engineer on luxury motor yachts.
Both Lachie and Jenny took the leap of faith to start their first family business together in 2018, The Lucky Handyman, when Jenny became pregnant with their third child. The stress of Lachlan commuting an hour away to work long days was a strain on the growing family and therefore they decided to open up a handyman business to fulfill the needs to first work at something you enjoy, second earn money, and thirdly keep the family needs in balance with the first two needs.
Over the years Lachie’s passion for working with wood had grown exponentially and he and Jenny had decided to grow the business in the direction of woodworking, carpentry, refinishing work, furniture making and home remodeling.
Lachie loves the natural beauty, strength and uniqueness of wood and finds joy in combining the ability to use his great problem solving skills and artistic talents together when working with it as a medium.
Jennifer Macaulay is partner, marketing manager & design partner at Macaulay & Co. & is wife to Lachlan. Jenny has a degree in marketing and a Masters in Education. She has worked and lived in many countries and has held careers in marketing and in education as an elementary school teacher. She is now a full time stay at home mom, homeschool educator to her children & others, business partner to Lachlan, design consultant & curriculum writer.
